About the book:

In 1941, while detained in the Alicante prison, under the regime of Francisco Franco, Miguel Hernández wrote four stories for his young son Manuel. These stories were a way for him to maintain a connection with his child during his incarceration, and they reflect both his deep love for his son and the difficult conditions he faced as a political prisoner after the Spanish Civil War.

The manuscripts entered the public domain in 2023. I decided to illustrate these stories—which, despite the passage of time, continue to hold exceptional beauty and tenderness—during my studies in the Book Arts Diploma at the National University of Arts (Buenos Aires, Argentina).
