Esta epopeya trágica combina mitología Inca con eventos históricos reales de la Conquista del Perú del S.XVI y la lucha entre fuerzas sobrenaturales y humanas, todo visto a través de los ojos de una heroína cuyo destino está entrelazado con el de su pueblo y su tierra.
En esta historia Vichama, el Dios del Inframundo, un dios en decadencia, busca liberarse de una maldición que lo mantiene atrapado como una momia en el mundo de abajo. Desde allí, manipula eventos en el mundo humano para su beneficio. A través de sus visiones en el agua, Vichama ve la llegada de los españoles liderados por Francisco Pizarro y decide usarlos como instrumentos para cumplir la profecía de transformación del mundo, el "Pachakuti".
En el mundo los hombres, Quillay, una joven pastora de llamas con una conexión especial con la naturaleza y la luna, es seleccionada para un sacrificio ceremonial en un santuario sagrado en la Huaca del Kuntur, un cerro en lo alto de los Andes. En esa ceremonia se abre accidentalmente un portal hacia el Inframundo y Quillay se ve involucrada cuando es testigo de las maquinaciones de Vichama junto a los extraños invasores llegados desde el mar. Buscando proteger a su pueblo y al imperio Inca, Quillay aprende las artes de la magia y la hechicería de las ancianas sabias. Con la ayuda de un ser mitológico llamado Amaru (un dragón andino), Quillay enfrenta desafíos sobrenaturales y criaturas místicas, incluidos los gigantes de piedra, las bestias y el ejercito Chanca de guerreros muertos invocados por Vichama.

This tragic epic combines Inca mythology with real historical events from the 16th-century Conquest of Peru and the struggle between supernatural and human forces, all seen through the eyes of a heroine whose destiny is intertwined with that of her people and her land.
In this story, Vichama, the God of the Underworld, a god in decline, seeks to free himself from a curse that keeps him trapped as a mummy in the underworld. From there, he manipulates events in the human world for his benefit. Through his visions in the water, Vichama sees the arrival of the Spanish led by Francisco Pizarro and decides to use them as instruments to fulfill the prophecy of world transformation, the "Pachakuti."
In the human world, Quillay, a young llama herder with a special connection to nature and the moon, is selected for a ceremonial sacrifice at a sacred sanctuary at Huaca del Kuntur, a hill high in the Andes. During that ceremony, a portal to the Underworld accidentally opens, and Quillay becomes involved when she witnesses Vichama's machinations alongside strange invaders from the sea. Seeking to protect her people and the Inca empire, Quillay learns the arts of magic and sorcery from the wise old women. With the help of a mythological being called Amaru (an Andean dragon), Quillay faces supernatural challenges and mystical creatures, including stone giants, beasts, and the Chanca army of dead warriors summoned by Vichama.
