At the age of 11, I received an architectural drawing table as a birthday gift. I didn’t have much idea how to use it, and my colors would roll off, but it stayed with me throughout my Industrial Design career and, in some way, shaped my future.
I started my career in graphic design studios and advertising agencies. Between 2003 and 2008, I worked independently, offering design and corporate branding services. Since 2011, I have been illustrating for English-speaking markets through an artistic representative and independently for Spanish-speaking markets. Since then, I have dedicated myself exclusively to illustration.
I primarily work digitally (Photoshop and Illustrator), blending analog techniques such as collage with hand-painted papers. This combination allows me versatility, editing capability, and greater speed in my illustrations.
I have illustrated dozens of children's books and educational materials, including a collection of posthumous texts by Bill Martin Jr. alongside Michael Sampson, which was awarded the Benjamin Franklin Silver Medal (IBPA).
I am currently attending the project clinic at Taller Dos Meninas and annually participate in workshops and talks at the professional conferences of the Book Fair. I am a member of the Argentine Association of Illustrators (ADA) and have conducted workshops for school-age children.
Although I was born in Venezuela, I have also lived in Guatemala, Colombia, Uruguay, and, for the past eight years, in Argentina. I mention this because I believe it also contributes to my personality as an illustrator. My native language is Spanish, but I am fluent in English, which has allowed me to work seamlessly for English-speaking markets.
